Srinagar, Jun 17 (KNO): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday attached two properties of a key accused in a Pakistan-backed terror conspiracy case, linked with the terror outfits Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer , a NIA spokesman said, “The accused, Shaheen Ahmad Lone, was found by NIA to be involved in smuggling of arms, ammunition and explosives from Pakistan through the LoC. The weapons and explosives were further supplied to terrorists of the banned HM and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terror organisations for unleashing terror activities in the Kashmir Valley.”
“The NIA investigations had also found Lone, against whom trial is ongoing in case RC-01/2020/NIA/JMU in the NIA Special Court, Jammu, to be actively involved in receiving and transferring funds to the terrorists,” the spokesman said, adding, “The NIA had arrested Lone in September 2020 and chargesheeted him in March 2021 under various provisions of the UA(P) Act.”
He said the two properties attached today as part of the action carried out under Section 33 (1) of UA (P) Act, pursuant to the orders of the NIA Special Court, Jammu, are located in Kanispora village of Baramulla district. They include a residential house built on land measuring 7.5 marlas and a piece of land measuring 6 marlas, on which a shed had been constructed—(KNO)
